Pressed the "Update" button on the Google app page in the Play Store. This reverts the app back to an old version of the app as it doesn't completely uninstall. Uninstalled the Google app itself (did this in the Play Store). Uninstalled the Google app overlay in the Substratum app. I got the Google app themed with Swift Black overlay now! Every other app I themed are black and have zero issues. So again to be clear, the Google app still works as normal, only the black theming is not applied. Deleted the substratum Google app data, no luck. No errors are shown and says the overlay installed correctly. In substratum I uninstalled the Google overlay, rebooted, then reinstalled the overlay, rebooted again. Same goes for Google assistant by the way.Įverything on my Galaxy S8 phone (not root) is up to date. The Google app does work but both the widget and the app itself are not black anymore.

OxygenOS theming: We base theming over the native OxygenOS dark theme, so the first thing you have to do is to switch to the native OOS Dark Theme: Go into Settings, then Display, then Theme: pick Dark, then tap OK!
